For one of Antwerp’s finest nightclubs Pekfabriek, Sonores Acoustics conducted a comprehensive acoustic analysis, assessment, and design improvements. Sound radiation to the environment was evaluated in accordance with local regulations (Vlarem II). Room acoustics were analysed by measuring key acoustic parameters such as Reverberation Time, Clarity, Definition, Strength, and Modal Decay Time, as well as their distribution across the space.

To address identified issues, we designed a new insulation shell, implemented porous and pressure-based absorbers, and installed diffusers throughout the space. In addition, the modal decay time was reduced, improving clarity and enhancing bass response. These modifications were aimed at creating a more controlled acoustic environment, optimized for both live performances and nightclub use.
