Sonores Acoustics was founded by acoustic engineer and sound artist Matthias Dziwak (°1991, MSc in Applied Engineering Sciences) as a platform for architectural and multi-disciplinary projects at the intersection of the science of acoustics and the art of sound.
Matthias was born in Kalmthout, Belgium. From an early age, music has always held a prominent place in his life. During his engineering studies at the University of Antwerp, he discovered the fascinating intersection between the science and art of sound: acoustics. This sparked a passion, and he further specialised in the field as a research student at Kahle Acoustics, project engineer at VENAC, and acoustics lecturer at the Faculty of Architecture at KU Leuven.
About Sonores Acoustics
In recent years, he has worked independently as a consulting and design engineer. His expertise includes room acoustics for music and parametric design. Since 2024, he is deepening his knowledge and skills through the MSc Acoustics programme at the internationally renowned Acoustics Research Centre at the University of Salford, under the guidance of professors Trevor Cox, Jonathan Hargreaves, and Bill Davies, amongst others.
Musically, Matthias remains highly active, notably with his electronic music project Avondlicht.
