Sonores Acoustics provided a comprehensive and detailed set of requirements with acoustic quality criteria for the new music education building of Academie Ekeren in Ekeren, Belgium. This circular and sustainable building is designed to be a hub for artistic development, with spaces specifically designed to support musical expression, creativity, and education.

The building will house classrooms and practice rooms for small ensembles focused on piano, guitar, bass guitar, and vocals, as well as medium-sized group spaces for jazz, pop, and rock bands. Additionally, there will be a dedicated practice room for larger groups focused on percussion and drums. The complex includes a fully equipped live recording studio, with an adjacent control room, vocal booth, and amplifier room, fully meeting the technical and educational needs of a contemporary music training facility.

The requirements were developed using a scientifically grounded framework, incorporating relevant international standards, literature, and reference projects. The acoustic properties of the building were specifically designed to create an optimal environment that supports both artistic education and creative expression.
